The History of Chicago Cubs Baseball at Wrigley Field
With the Major League Baseball (MLB) Season underway, the Chicago Cubs are ready to play ball! The Cubbies have been playing at Wrigley Field since 1914 (2nd oldest active MLB ballpark behind Fenway Park in Boston). Speaking of Wrigley Field, the venue hosted the 1990 All-Star Game along with the 2009 NHL Winter Classic (Blackhawks vs. Red Wings). The ballpark is about a 20-25 minute drive from Guaranteed Rate Field (home of the MLB’s White Sox). Wrigley Field is also about a 15-20 minute drive from the United Center (home of the NHL’s Blackhawks and NBA’s Bulls). Since the Cubs moved to their current home in 1914, the team won a World Series championship in 2016. Chicago also played in four National League Championship Series since 2003.
