The History of the College World Series at Charles Schwab Field
When the College World Series comes every June, some of the best baseball teams in the U.S. are ready to play ball! The College World Series have been playing at Charles Schwab Field since 2011. Speaking of Charles Schwab Field, the venue is also the home of the Creighton Bluejays. The College World Series home is a 20-30 minute drive from Werner Park, the Triple-A Baseball site for the Omaha Storm Chasers (Kansas City Royals). Charles Schwab Field was formerly known as TD Ameritrade Park from 2011 until 2021.
Since the College World Series came to the stadium in 2011, more than several teams have won the national championship. Those teams are the following: South Carolina (2011), Arizona (2012), UCLA (2013), Vanderbilt (2014 & 2019), Virginia (2015), Coastal Carolina (2016), Florida (2017), and Oregon State (2018). Unfortunately, the 2020 edition was cancelled due to the global health crisis. Before relocating to TD Ameritrade Park, in 2011, the College World Series played their games at Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium from 1950 until 2010. The venue was named after the late Mayor of Omaha during the 1950’s Johnny Rosenblatt.
