The History of Celtics Basketball/Bruins Hockey at the TD Garden

The TD Garden (Boston, Massachusetts) is a multi-purpose arena that is home of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association. 2021 marks the 26th year both the Bruins and the Celtics played their home games at the TD Garden, which opened in 1995. Prior to being named to its current sponsor title in 2009, the arena was known as FleetCenter for its first ten years before changing to TD Banknorth Center in 2005.

Since its opening, the Boston-based arena has hosted three Stanley Cup Finals (2011, 2013 & 2019) and three NBA Finals (2008, 2010, and 2022). The Bruins hoisted the Stanley Cup in 2011 while the Celtics won an NBA championship in 2008. The TD Garden is currently bidding to host the 2026 NBA All-Star Game.
