With the NHL Hockey season underway, the Buffalo Sabres are ready for puck-drop! The Sabres have been playing home games at KeyBank Center since 1996. Speaking of KeyBank Center, the venue can hold at least 18,000 hockey fans in capacity. The team’s venue is located in Downtown Buffalo (home of Triple-A Baseball’s Bisons). KeyBank Center is also about a 20-25 minute drive from Orchard Park (home of the NFL’s Buffalo Bills). The Sabres have played in the 1999 Stanley Cup Finals, but lost to the Dallas Stars in six games. However, Buffalo currently has the league’s active playoff drought since the team last reached the postseason during the 2010-2011 season.
