With the Minor League Hockey Season underway, the Bridgeport Islanders are ready to drop the puck! Bridgeport is an AHL club of the New York Islanders. In addition, they play in the Atlantic Division for the Eastern Conference. Bridgeport has been a farm team for the Islanders since 2001. The franchise was formerly known as the Bridgeport Sound Tigers from 2001 until 2021. The Sound Tigers played in the 2002 Calder Cup Finals, but ended up losing to the Chicago Wolves in five games. Also, Bridgeport has reached the playoffs five times since the 2008-2009 season.
