The History of Boise State Football at Albertsons Stadium

When the College Football Season around the corner, the Boise State Broncos are ready for kick-off! The men in blue and orange have been playing at Albertsons Stadium since the early 1970’s. Speaking of Albertsons Stadium, the venue can hold at least 35,000 fans in attendance. The Boise State football venue will be undergoing renovations on the East Side that include new concourses, a revised academic center, and updated premium seating. Albertsons Stadium is also located on the Boise State University campus. The school’s football stadium is iconic for its blue grass on the playing field.

Since its opening, the Boise State Broncos football venue has witnessed some of the greatest college football players and coaches in history. Those players are the following: Chris Petersen (head coach), QB Kellen Moore, CB Kyle Wilson, RB Doug Martin, OT Ryan Clady, Bryan Harsin (head coach), QB Brett Rypien, and many more! The men in blue and orange last won a Mountain West Conference Championship in 2019, their 4th such title since 2012. Boise State also won the Fiesta Bowl (a New Year’s Bowl) twice in 2009 and 2014.
