With the Minor League Baseball Season (MiLB) underway, the Beloit Sky Carp (based in Beloit, Wisconsin) are ready to play ball! The Sky Carp are a High-A Team affiliate of the Miami Marlins. In addition, they play in the West Division for the High-A Central League. The Sky Carp have been an affiliate for the Marlins since 2021. The minor league franchise previously partnered with the Oakland Athletics from 2013 until 2020. The team was formerly known as the Beloit Snappers from 1982 until 2021. Beloit created the name “Sky Carp” after the nickname for a non-migrating goose based in Wisconsin and other Midwest states.

The Beloit Sky Carp have been playing their home games at ABC Supply Stadium since 2021. Speaking of ABC Supply Stadium, the newly-built 3,500-capacity ballpark is located in Downtown Beloit near the Rock River. Before their new ballpark, the then-Snappers have been playing at Harry C. Pohlman Field for nearly 40 years (1982-2021). The old stadium was named after Harry C. Pohlman, a long-time manager for a local Beloit school’s baseball program. The city of Beloit is also close to the Wisconsin/Illinois State Line. The team’s former mascot was Snapper D. Turtle. The Sky Carp’s new mascot is to be determined.
