Who Are the Belleville Senators? What League Do They Play in?

With the Minor League Hockey Season underway, the Belleville Senators are ready to drop the puck! Belleville is an AHL club of the Ottawa Senators. In addition, they play in the North Division for the Eastern Conference. Belleville has been a farm team for the Sens since 2002. The franchise was formerly known as the Binghamton Senators (New York: 2002-2017) until their relocation. The Binghamton club won the 2011 Calder Cup Championship. However, the Senators have yet to reach the Calder Cup playoffs since the Belleville tenure began in 2017.

Where do the Belleville Senators Play their Home Games? Who is the Main Mascot?

The Senators have been playing home games at CAA Arena since 2017. Speaking of CAA Arena, the 4,000-capacity arena is located just several miles from Downtown Belleville. The venue is about a 2.5-hour drive from Ottawa (home of the NHL’s Senators and CFL’s Redblacks). CAA Arena is also about a 2.0-hour drive from Toronto (home of the AHL’s Marlies, NHL’s Maple Leafs, NBA’s Raptors, MLB’s Blue Jays, and CFL’s Argonauts). The arena was previously known as Yardmen Arena until 2018. The team’s main mascot is Belly the Red Monster.
