The History of Baylor Bears Football at McLane Stadium

With the College Football Season around the corner, the Baylor Bears are ready for kick-off! The men in Green and Gold have been playing at McLane Stadium since 2014. Speaking of McLane Stadium, the venue can hold at least 45,000 fans in attendance. The Bears’ football venue is about a 1.5-hour drive from Fort Worth, TX (home of the TCU Horned Frogs). McLane Stadium is also located on the Baylor University campus. The school’s football stadium was named after local businessman/Baylor graduate Drayton McLane II (who provided funds for the venue’s construction).

In the past, the Bears football program has witnessed some of the greatest college football players and coaches in history. Those players are the following: Matt Rhule (head coach), QB Robert Griffin III (Heisman Winner), QB Bryce Petty, WR Corey Coleman, G Spencer Drango, Dave Aranda (head coach), and many more! The men in Green and Gold last won a Conference Championship in 2014 (shared). Since 2013, the Baylor Bears have played in three New Year’s Bowl games.
