The History of Auburn Tigers Football at Jordan-Hare Stadium
With the College Football Season around the corner, the Auburn Tigers are ready for kick-off! The men in navy blue and burnt orange have been playing at Jordan-Hare Stadium since the late-1930’s. Speaking of Jordan-Hare Stadium, the venue can hold at least 85,000 fans in attendance. The AU Tigers football venue is about a 1.0-hour drive from Montgomery (home of the Montgomery Biscuits of Double-A Baseball). Jordan-Hare Stadium is also located on the Auburn University campus. The school’s football stadium was named after former Tigers Player/Athletic Committee Chairman Cliff Hare and Tigers Head Coach Ralph Jordan (led Auburn to 1957 National Title).
Since its opening, the AU Tigers football venue has witnessed some of the greatest college football players and coaches in history. Those players are the following: Gus Malzahn (head coach), QB Cam Newton, RB Bo Jackson, DT Nick Fairley, QB Jason Campbell, Gene Chizik (head coach), RB Cardillac Williams, and many more! The men in navy blue and burnt orange last won a National Championship in 2010. Auburn also played in 3 SEC Championship Games since 2010.
