Who Are the Asheville Tourists? What League Do They Play in?

With the Minor League Baseball Season (MiLB) underway, the Asheville Tourists (based in Asheville, NC) are ready to play ball! The Tourists are a High-A Team affiliate of the Houston Astros. In addition, they play in the South Division for the High-A East League. The Tourists have been a farm club for the Astros since 2021. The Minor League Team previously partnered with the Colorado Rockies from 1994 until 2020.

Where do the Asheville Tourists Play their Home Games? Who is the Official Mascot?

The Tourists have been playing their home games at McCormick Field since 1924. Speaking of McCormick Field, the 4,000-capacity ballpark is located in Downtown Asheville. The stadium was named after former Asheville resident Lewis McCormick (who was a doctor that focused on the city’s houseflies problem). McCormick Field is also about a 2-hour drive from Charlotte (home of the NBA’s Hornets, NFL’s Panthers, Checkers of the AHL, and Triple-A Baseball’s Knights). The team’s official mascots are Mr. Moon and Ted E. Tourist the Bear.
