The History of the Alabama Football at Bryant-Denny Stadium
With the College Football Season around the corner, the Alabama Crimson Tide are ready for kick-off! The men in crimson and white have been playing at Bryant-Denny Stadium since the late 1920’s. Speaking of Bryant-Denny Stadium, the venue can hold at least 100,000 fans in attendance. The Roll Tide’s football venue is about a 1.0-hour drive from Birmingham (home of the Birmingham Barons of Triple-A Baseball). Bryant-Denny Stadium is also located near the University of Alabama campus. The Football venue was named after Crimson Tide Head Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant (1958-1983) and University President George H. Denny (1912-1932).
Since its opening, the Crimson Tide football venue has witnessed some of the greatest college football players and coaches in history. Those players are the following: Nick Saban (head coach), WR DeVonta Smith, QB Tua Tagovailoa, Paul “Bear” Bryant (head coach), RB Mark Ingram Jr., QB Mac Jones, QB Jalen Hurts, and many more! The men in crimson and white last won a National Championship in 2020, their 6th such title since 2009.
