Who Are the Akron RubberDucks? What League Do They Play in?

With the Minor League Baseball Season (MiLB) underway, the Akron RubberDucks (based in Akron, Ohio) are ready to play ball! The RubberDucks are a Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. In addition, they play in the Southwest Division for the Double-A Northeast League. The RubberDucks have been an affiliate for Cleveland since its inception in 1997. The Minor League team was formerly known as the Akron Aeros from 1997 until 2013. The “RubberDucks” name comes from the city of Akron’s long history of rubber tire companies being founded in Akron.

The RubberDucks have been playing their home games at Canal Park since its founding in 1997. Speaking of Canal Park, the 7,000-capacity ballpark is located near the Ohio & Erie Canal in Downtown Akron. The team’s official mascot is Webster the RubberDuck.
