With the Minor League Hockey Season underway, the Abbotsford Canucks are ready to drop the puck! Abbotsford is an AHL club of the Vancouver Canucks. In addition, they play in the Pacific Division for the Western Conference. Abbotsford has been a farm team for the Canucks since 2013. The franchise was formerly known as the first incarnation of the Utica Comets (New York: 2013-2021) until their relocation. Utica eventually landed the second version of the Comets now affiliated with the New Jersey Devils. Abbotsford used to have another AHL club called the Heat (Calgary Flames: 2009-2014) before they relocated to New York to become the Adirondack Flames. They would relocate one year later, this time to California to become the Stockton Heat.

Abbotsford Centre is also about a 2.5-hour drive from Seattle, WA (home of the NHL’s Kraken, MLB’s Mariners, NFL’s Seahawks, and WNBA’s Storm). The team’s main mascot is TBA.
