Who Are the Williamsport Crosscutters? What League Do They Play in?

With the Minor League Baseball Season (MiLB) underway, the Williamsport Crosscutters (based in Williamsport, PA) are ready to play ball! The Crosscutters are an Independent Baseball Team for College Baseball’s Top Prospects. In addition, they play in the MLB Draft League (no divisions). The Crosscutters were a Class-A farm club for the Philadelphia Phillies from 2007 until 2020. The Minor League Team was named after the fact that Williamsport is considered one of the best log cutting capitals in the world.

Where do the Williamsport Crosscutters Play their Home Games? Who is the Official Mascot?

The Crosscutters have been playing their home games at Muncy Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field since 1999. Speaking of Historic Bowman Field, the 2,000-capacity ballpark is located in Williamsport near the Lycoming Creek. In fact, the stadium is also the home of the MLB’s Little League Classic. Historic Bowman Field, which opened in the 1920’s, is about a 15-20 minute drive from Howard Lamade Stadium (home of the Little League World Series). The Crosscutters’ venue was named after J. Walton Bowman (who was responsible for funding the city’s new stadium in the 1920’s). The team’s official mascot is Boomer the Blue Bear.
