6 MLB Ballparks that Serve the Best Donuts

Many baseball fans enjoy visiting all thirty ballparks across North America to experience thrilling games and diverse food options. Traditional stadium fares like hot dogs, peanuts, and Cracker Jacks® are a must-try for these enthusiasts. After indulging in savory dishes, many fans want something sweet to satisfy their cravings. This article will highlight the stadiums that offer the most unique and delicious donut experiences in the major leagues. Please note that food options may vary depending on concession stand availability and location.

#6 – Kauffman Stadium (Rivals Sports Bar)

Kansas City has emerged as a sports town in the Midwest over the past decade. The Royals claimed their first MLB championship in 30 years by defeating the Mets in five games in 2015. Four and a half years later, thanks to QB Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs won their first Super Bowl title in over 50 seasons. When people plan a trip to Kansas City, they expect to indulge in some of the best barbecue restaurants in the nation. However, Kauffman Stadium is the only venue to sell donuts during game days in the Central U.S.

One of the most popular spots to eat and watch Royals games is the Rivals Sports Bar at the right field beyond section 152. This area is open to all ticket holders, who can order healthy sandwiches and chicken wings. Rivals Sports Bar offers the top-rated Cardamom Donuts, an Indonesian Spice infused into fried pastries and a great dessert option. The snack pairs well with the Mango Lassi Shooter, a drink made of Mango, Milk, Yogurt, and Cardamom, which helps break up the richness of the donut.

#5 – Guaranteed Rate Field (Southside Mini Donuts)

There have been many memorable moments at the home of the White Sox since its opening in 1991. One of the most historic moments was in 2005 when the team won the Fall Classic after an 88-year drought. Four years later, LHP Mark Buehrle pitched a perfect game against the Rays, not allowing any hits or baserunners. In 2020, first baseman Jose Abreu won the AL MVP Award, becoming the first White Sox player to do so since Frank Thomas won back-to-back in 1993 and 1994.

However, one of the best things about Guaranteed Rate Field isn’t related to baseball but to the delicious fried desserts at the Southside Mini Donuts food stand in section 155. The chefs blend the fan-favorite pastries with Cinnamon Sugar and serve about five mini donuts per bag per order. Other sweet treats at the outdoor ballpark include Rainbow Cone® and Cinnamon Churro Milkshake. Despite the stadium being over thirty years old, the unique menu selections never get old.

#4 – Citizens Bank Park (Federal Donuts)

In 2022, the Philadelphia Phillies made a surprising appearance in the World Series after 14 years. Their path to the championship included defeating the defending champions, the Braves, in the Division Series and the Padres in the Championship Series. Although they ultimately lost to the Astros, the Phillies’ success story was a proud moment for the City of Brotherly Love. In addition to their on-field success, Citizens Bank Park surprised baseball fans with a unique addition to their concessions lineup.

Federal Donuts, located in left field (section 140), offers delicious fried pastries in flavors like Cookies & Cream, Cinnamon Sugar, and Strawberry Lavender. Along with sweet treats, the stand also sells Buttermilk Chicken Sandwiches and Crispy French Fries. While Citizens Bank Park is known for its Cheesesteaks, Federal Donuts has become famous for fans looking for a different snack. Even the Philly Phanatic, the team’s mascot, has enjoyed the tasty treats throughout the summer. So next time you attend a Phillies game, stop by Federal Donuts for a delicious donut & chicken combo!

#3 – Tropicana Field (Daddies Donuts)

Tampa Bay has become a popular destination in the South in recent years. Every January, the city hosts the Gasparilla Parade, a pirate-themed event on the Hillsborough River. Additionally, Tampa has hosted numerous major sporting events both locally and nationally. The Super Bowl was held at Raymond James Stadium in early 2021, and the 2021 and 2022 Stanley Cup Finals were held at Amalie Arena. The Rays venue in St. Petersburg is unique for offering freshly-made donuts on a game-by-game basis. Daddy’s Donuts, a local business from St. Pete, has opened its own stand at Tropicana Field starting with the 2023 season.

The menu includes over a half-dozen flavors, with the Maple Bacon Donut (made with rendered bacon bits and maple glaze) being the most recommended. Other flavors available include Rays (vanilla glaze with yellow and blue sprinkles), Triple Chocolate (milk, dark, and white), Oreo™, Twix®, Snowcaps®, Vanilla Glaze, and Chocolate Glaze with Baseball Decoration. These delicious donuts can be purchased at the Third Base Hall (between sections 111 and 123), Right Field Street (ground level), and Rays Club (premium seating). The Rays know how to put a winning product on the field and in the food concourses.

#2 – Citi Field (Sundae Donuts)

The state of the Mets has changed over the past few years regarding front office and food concessions. Funds businessman Steve Cohen acquired the team in 2020 from Fred Wilpon, who owned the club for the previous 30 years. New York also had four different managerial changes since the beginning of the 2010s: Terry Collins in 2011, Mickey Callaway in 2018, Luis Rojas in 2020, and Buck Showalter in 2022. The Queens-based stadium recently implemented a giant video board at Centerfield. But in the food scene, Citi Field has a reputation for creating some menu selections rarely seen throughout the country.

The home of the Amazin’ Mets provides not just any set of fried pastries but with ones served with ice cream. Sundae Donuts is a stand that sells milkshakes and ice cream cups with a Glazed Ring Donuts on top of the cup. The section has four delicious flavors to choose from: Oreo™, Cookies & Blue Cream, Birthday Cake, and Caramel Popcorn. Anyone who wants to sample this exciting innovation will likely have to pay extra to get it. Sundae Donuts will be available at the Hudson Whiskey NY Club at home plate via promenade level (400 or 500).

#1 – Busch Stadium (Dingers Mini Donuts)

St. Louis is a tourist destination known for two main things: the Gateway Arch and the Cardinals. Like the iconic arch, Busch Stadium offers a variety of amenities for fans and travelers to enjoy year-round. In addition to operating Ballpark Village, which features Cardinals-themed attractions like the Team’s Hall of Fame and Bally Sports Live!, the home of the Redbirds also sells a wide range of food options before and during game day. In fact, Busch Stadium boasts the best donut experience in Major League Baseball.

The stadium’s culinary department makes fresh fried pastries daily for every homestand, which sports enthusiasts can find at Dingers Donuts in the home plate concourse (section 152). Customers can order the mini fried snacks in either an 8-piece tray or a 25-piece souvenir helmet, and they come in three delicious frosting flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate, and Cinnamon Sugar. It’s always a good idea to bring family and friends to a Cardinals contest so you can buy a 25-piece helmet to share with them.
