The History of Cincinnati Reds Baseball at Great American Ballpark

With the Major League Baseball (MLB) Season underway, the Cincinnati Reds are ready to play ball! The Reds have been playing at Great American Ballpark since 2003. Speaking of Great American Ballpark, the venue hosted the 2015 MLB All-Star Game. The ballpark is not far from Paul Brown Stadium (home of the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals). The baseball venue is also very close to Heritage Bank Center (home of the ECHL Hockey’s Cincinnati Cyclones).

Since the Reds moved to their current home in 2003, the team won two NL Central Division championships in 2010 and 2012. Cincinnati also reached the playoffs four times since the venue opened: 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2020. In 2021, Reds INF Jonathan India won the NL Rookie of the Year Award. Great American Ballpark saw two no-hitters in its history: 2013 by Reds RHP Homer Bailey (vs. Giants) and 2016 by Cubs RHP Jake Arrieta (vs. Reds). The stadium also has a team museum called the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame Museum.
