The History of Los Angeles Dodgers Baseball at Dodger Stadium

With the Major League Baseball (MLB) Season underway, the Los Angeles Dodgers are ready to play ball! The men in blue have been playing at Dodger Stadium since 1962. Speaking of Dodger Stadium, the venue hosted the 2014 NHL Stadium Series (Kings vs. Ducks) and will host the 2022 MLB All-Star Game. The stadium is about a 35-40 minute drive from Anaheim (home of the MLB’s Angels and NHL’s Ducks). Dodger Stadium is also about a 2.0-hour drive from San Diego (home of the MLB’s Padres).

Since the Dodgers moved to their current home in 1962, the team won a couple World Series Championships (including 1988 and 2020). In addition, Los Angeles (NL) played in three Fall Classics (2017, 2018, 2020) along with eight National Championship Series appearances since 2008. Dodger Stadium saw 13 no-hitters in its history with the recent ones by the following: 2014 by Clayton Kershaw (Dodgers), 2015 by Jake Arrieta (Cubs), and 2021 by Cubs Combined No-No. The LAD club also witnessed NL Rookie of the Year winners in INF Corey Seager (2016) and INF/OF Cody Bellinger (2017). Kershaw won three NL Cy Young Awards in 2011, 2013, and 2014 (also NL MVP in 2014).
