The History of St. Paul Saints Baseball at CHS Field

With the Minor League Baseball Season (MiLB) underway, the St. Paul Saints are ready to play ball! The Saints are a Triple-A team for the Minnesota Twins. In addition, they play in the Midwest Division for the International League starting in 2022. For 2021, St. Paul played in the same division for the Triple-A East League. The Saints have been a farm club for the Twins since 2021. St. Paul was previously an Independent League franchise from its inception in 1993 until 2020. The Saints are one of the three Independent clubs to join the Minor Leagues along with Sugar Land Skeeters/Space Cowboys (AAA) and Somerset Patriots (AA).

The Saints have been playing their home games at CHS Field since 2015. Speaking of CHS Field, the 7,000-capacity ballpark is located in Downtown St. Paul. The ballpark is also located just a couple miles from Xcel Energy Center (home of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild). CHS Field is about a 20-25 minute drive from Minneapolis (home of the MLB’s Twins, NBA’s Timberwolves, and NFL’s Vikings). The ballpark is close to the City of Baseball Museum. The team’s official mascot is Porknite the Pig. CHS Field saw one no-hitter in its history: April 2022 by Indianapolis Indians combined no-no.
